Last Thursday 3rd December, in a ceremony conducted by journalist María Oña, the ASTIC 2009 awards were introduced in Madrid. The awards recognize the Information and Communication Technologies Project of the Public Administration, the Information and Communication professional of the Public Administrations for his professional career, and the journalist for his spreading of the Information and Communication Technologies in the public sector. In this V edition of the awards, EMC2, Bull, Informática El Corte Inglés & Bilbomática have collaborated.

The jury of the ASTIC 2009 Awards has been made up by well know personalities in the University environment and in the Information and Communication Technologies world, together with ASTIC associated members, between them some belonging to the Directive Board like Francisco Antón, ASTIC President and Deputy Director of the Information and Communication Technologies of the Industry Ministry; Lucía Escapa, Deputy Director of the Information and Communication Technologies of the Periphery Administration of the Presidency Ministry, Victoria Figueroa, Deputy Director of the Information and Communication Technologies of the Presidency Ministry; Víctor Izquierdo, General Director of INTECO, Antonio Rodríguez, Informatics, Communications and New Technologies Deputy Director of the Emergencies and Civilian Protection Directorate General of the Council of Madrid; José Manuel Pacho; Expert Technician of Computer Projects of the National Heritage and José Antonio García, Director of the Service Development Area of the Information and Communication Technologies Subdirectorate of the Education Ministry.
On the University and the associated world’s side: Leandro Pérez, AUTELSI President, Jorge Pérez, Professor of the High Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering of Madrid’s Polytechnic University and Arturo Ribagorda, Professor of Computer Science of Carlos III University of Madrid.
For ASTIC’s president, Francisco Antón Vique, these awards “which already celebrate their fifth edition, have consolidated as the reference awards of the Public Administrations recognising the work done by our work colleagues”.
Awards
The ASTIC 2009 award to the Information and Communication Technologies Project of the Public Administrations was for the Data Verification Service’s Intermediation Platform of the Directorate General of the Promotion of the e-Government of the Presidency Ministry. The award was received by José Antonio Eusamio, Technical Counsellor of the e-Government Project Division DG for the promotion of the e-Government of the Presidency Ministry.
The ASTIC 2009 award to Information and Communication Technologies of the Public Administrations for his professional career was for Fernando de Pablo, General Director for the promotion of e-Government.
The ASTIC 2009 journalistic award was for Antonio Lorenzo, specialized journalist in Telecommunications and New Technologies of “El Economista” for his spreading of the Information and Communication Technologies.
