During the 30th September and 1st October, the ESRI 2009 Conference has been held at the Centro de Convenciones Norte of the Convention & Congress Centre of Madrid (Ifema).
Bilbomática has taken part as speaker in this event, which is considered a meeting point for professionals, companies and users of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Different Companies and institutions such as Repsol, Endesa (Energy Suppliers), Basque Government, Government of Navarra, Government of Cataluña, National Geographic Institute, Spanish National Post Service, Regional Government of Malaga, Regional Government of Madrid and so on… have taken part in the different presentations.
During its presentation in the Conference, Bilbomática introduced Natura 2000 project, information system belonging to the EEA (European Environmental Agency), European Agency which pursues as mission the gathering, processing and publishing of information on the situation and evolution of the environment at a European Level. The EEA deals with data from all areas complying with the different regulations on biodiversity and environmental interest. The published information can be descriptive or geographic.
The main targets of the Natura 2000 Information Systems are divided into two different areas:
• Manipulation and loading of data in a common repository. Manipulación y carga de datos a un repositorio común
• Spreading of the descriptive and geographic data.
Forthe development of the project, ESRI ArcGIS Server 9.3 technology, together with ASP.Net & Adobe Flex have been used
