Welcome to the first edition of the EU Cancer Mission newsletter!
We are pleased to present this first edition of the newsletter, which aims to keep you informed and engaged with the latest developments, achievements, and opportunities arising from our collective efforts. You will find more comprehensive information on the Mission Against Cancer implementation website: EU Mission: Cancer - European Commission (europa.eu) .
There are some elements of this newsletter that I'm particularly excited about because they provide a new way for our citizens and stakeholders to join us:
Citizen participation: a cornerstone of the EU Cancer Mission is the active involvement of citizens in shaping and driving our initiatives. Through various engagement activities, such as the Cancer Mission's traveling tour , we encourage patients, survivors, families, and healthcare professionals to share their knowledge and contribute to the Mission's activities.
Project News: Each newsletter will include updates on R&D projects and work done in the Cancer Mission project groups, providing some interesting developments and insights.
Publications and reports: We will highlight several publications and reports that provide valuable information on the progress of the EU Cancer Mission, for example, the feasibility study for the future European Digital Cancer Center. We encourage you to explore these resources and share them with your networks to raise awareness and knowledge.
Upcoming events: The EU's cancer mission aims to bring people together to share ideas, collaborate, and learn from one another. We are pleased to announce a conference on “ Innovative Palliative Care for Cancer Patients” on October 8, 2024. This event will bring together experts, practitioners, and advocates to discuss the latest scientific advances and best practices for providing effective patient care. It promises to be an enlightening and inspiring occasion, and we look forward to your participation.
Call to action: With the launch of this newsletter, we extend a warm invitation to all our readers to help us spread the word. By sharing this publication on your social networks, you can help more people benefit from the wealth of information and opportunities it will continue to offer.
With each edition of this newsletter, we hope that the enthusiasm we put into our work to improve the lives of more than 3 million people by 2030 reaches you.
Your commitment and support are crucial to the success of the EU Cancer Mission and we look forward to achieving it together.
Thank you for joining us on this important journey.
