For several highly productive days, BILBOMÁTICA, an ALTIA Company, shared some working days with the members of the LUCIA European Project consortium in Donostia-San Sebastián, following an invitation from Vicomtech.

This consortium, led by Technion (Israel Institute of Technology), is made up of 22 members from various academic institutions, health services, hospitals and research centers around the world; with whom we work together to identify and analyze the risk factors associated with lung cancer .

The main objective of these sessions has been to deepen our understanding of this cancer, with the aim of improving prevention strategies and early detection of the disease. To achieve this goal, a comprehensive study of risk factors and the biological processes involved in the disease will be carried out, along with a detailed characterization of the tumors .

The ultimate goal of all this is to improve and enable more precise medical approaches in the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of lung cancer .

Some of the specific activities carried out during these days were the workshop "Understanding Lung Cancer" , coordinated by Vicomtech and BioCruces Bizkaia, which aimed to improve the prevention and diagnosis of lung cancer from a technological and clinical perspective , featuring different presentations; or the first meeting of the working groups "Prevention and Early Detection" and "Understanding ", of which we are a part, in the context of the European Union Mission against Cancer.
