At BILBOMÁTICA we have developed a system that allows the Basque Government's Department of Public Health to manage and control the entire life cycle of vaccines, guaranteeing traceability, stock control at the batch level and efficiency in each of the processes.
Coordination between centers and systems
The project required integrating information from the Integrated Health Organizations' vaccination centers with the SAP system to ensure that shipments, administration, and stock control were coordinated and available in real time. We implemented a unified workflow connecting laboratories, warehouses, sub-directorates, and external centers, facilitating the management of each stage of the vaccine lifecycle.
A central module to manage the entire cycle
To cover all needs, we developed a CORE module within the SIV application. This solution manages contracts with laboratories, procurement and storage in cold storage facilities and UVE (Virtual Immunization Units), orders and receipts at Integrated Healthcare Organizations (IHOs), as well as distribution to external centers. Furthermore, it allows for granular stock control, recording of movements, incident management, and adjustments when necessary, ensuring complete traceability of each vaccine batch.
Access for External Centers and Data Analysis
We have also incorporated web access for external centers, allowing them to manage orders and incidents independently. The automation of reception processes at Integrated Health Organizations (OSIs) and the generation of advanced reports in Power BI facilitate data analysis, enabling Public Health managers to make quick decisions based on reliable information.
Efficiency and Control at the Service of Public Health
With this solution, the Basque Government's Public Health Department has a tool that covers all processes in the vaccine lifecycle, from procurement to administration and disposal, ensuring precise control, operational efficiency, and real-time support for healthcare planning and management. This project reinforces our commitment to technological innovation applied to healthcare and the continuous improvement of public services.
