EU GRASSLANDS WATCH OPERATIONS

The project is part of the European Union's Copernicus Program. The objective of this project is to monitor and assess grasslands in Europe using Earth observation technologies such as satellite imagery and geospatial data.
It primarily focuses on monitoring land cover, dynamics of grassland areas, and detecting changes over time. This is crucial for gaining a better understanding of the state of grassland ecosystems in Europe and making informed decisions regarding sustainable land management.
Monitoring grasslands holds significance in terms of biodiversity conservation, agricultural and livestock management, as well as comprehending the impacts of climate change on terrestrial ecosystems.
